Bill....good afternoon.
First 3 miles are on Crazy Horse property...1 mile of paved and 2 miles of unpaved road. Then you're on the Mickelson Trail for 9 + miles into Hill City then about 4 blocks of pavement to Half finish line.
26.2 millers will continue on Main street 2 blocks, then a couple more paved streets totaling about 3/4 mile, then back onto Mickelson for an out and back totaling close to 11 miles and finish coming back into Hill City and the Main Street finish on pavement.
If you have any other questions.....I'm here

In the new Marathon's web page, could you give a general description of the running surface percentage of pavement v. gravel & Mickelson Trail? I enjoy the Deadwood Marathon and Lean Horse surfaces so much! Thanks Jerry.

Chris & Brenda.....Merry Christmas to you too! Thanks.
Great to hear from you. Elaine and I have fond memories of your time here. We loved having the opportunity to meet you both.
When you begin to plan your next trip to our part of the world, let us know if there is anything we can do to help.

Wade....glad to hear you'll be joining us for the inaugural Run Crazy Horse. It's going to be good.
As for confusion with Lean Horse Hundred......eh, we'll have to wait and see. I think we'll be alright.
Merry Christmas and a heathly New Year

This is great! I've been looking for a fall marathon in the hills, this will be a great excuse to make the trip from Minnesota. I think the name is going to cause a lot of confusion because it is so similar to your other events. Maybe have a naming contest...
