RACE RULES and INFO
Please read 'The Fine Art of Crewing'
Runner Bib must be worn on the front and outside whatever clothing you are wearing. If scorers cannot see your number they cannot score you. It is the runner's responsibility to insure that you have been scored at each station.
ABSOLUTELY NO LITTERING!
You will be disqualified if you, your crew or your pacers are caught littering.
NO VEHICULAR PACING IS ALLOWED!
No aid or assistance may be given other than at designated handler stations. Race officials have the right to disqualify anyone not abiding by this rule. Handlers take note.
No aid is allowed from a moving bike/vehicle.
No bike/vehicle may follow a runner at night, assisting with lighting.
For the safety of all - any runner dropping out must notify a volunteer at a manned aid station (or the finish line after 6 PM). Failure to do so may result in ban from future races.
Any runner accepting a ride for any reason is out of the race.
Pets must be leashed at all times. NO pets on course.
All decisions of medical personnel are final.
Violation of any rule is grounds for disqualification. Race officials reserve the right to bar any person from this or future Lean Horse events.
Runners who get lost must return, without assistance, to the point where they left the course to continue.
No "muling" (pacers carrying runners gear).
Use of trekking poles or headphones (walkmans, radios, etc.) is discouraged but will not result in disqualification unless, in the opinion of the race director, it produces a hazardous situation.
PARKING
All parking signs must be followed. No parking is allowed in driveways or in the road. All parking at handler access stations must be out of traffic and must not block roads or driveways. Handlers must follow directions of aid station personnel.

TRAIL MARKINGS
You will NOT get lost on this course. The only chance for any confusion at all is the short bit of sidewalk through Hill City, but we will have that clearly marked. The trail is marked at every aid station with the actual course mileage markers, and, there are permanent markers at one mile intervals throughout the entire length of the Mickelson Trail. Glow sticks will be used to mark the trail at night - we will have crews checking during the night, but if a marker or two ends up missing.. so sorry.
Quitting the Race
If you decide to drop from the race, make certain that proper procedures are followed: THE RUNNER OR CREW MUST NOTIFY RACE PERSONNEL AT ONCE AT THE CLOSEST MANNED AID STATION.
Drop Bags
Extra supplies may be left at check in on Friday before 6 PM for delivery to the aid stations that you specify. See the list of available drop-off points. Supplies must be in a durable bag, clearly marked with the runners bib number and the station to which it is to be delivered.
Most drop bags will be returned to the finish line by noon on Sunday.
WE ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR LOST, STOLEN OR FORGOTTEN ARTICLES. ARRANGEMENTS MUST BE MADE IN ADVANCE FOR RETURN OF ANY ITEMS NOT PICKED UP ON SUNDAY.
Aid Stations and Cut-off Times
Above all please have a safe race.
Enjoy the beauty of Nature that we are given for this event.
Please remember to thank the volunteers. They make all this possible.
And if you haven't yet...
